International Federation of Landscape Architects: Africa, Asia-Pacific, Middle East 2024 Awards Announced
The 2024 International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) Africa, Asia-Pacific, Middle East (AAPME) Awards have been revealed.
Our work on Tan Razak Exchange (TRX) City Park in Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with Pentago for Lendlease, received an honourable mention in the ‘Built Projects: Social and Community Health’ category.
The expansive 4-hectare rooftop park is the first major public park delivered in Kuala Lumpur for over 20 years and the largest elevated public park in Southeast Asia. The highly connected public place links retail experience with outdoor amenity, featuring a diverse range of spaces for people to explore, relax, gather, and play.
Filled with over 180,000 plants, including more than 900 trees, the park offers a variety of food sources and habitats for local wildlife and insects. The predominantly native and naturalized plant selection embraces distinctive geographical typologies found across Malaysia.
The awards recognise projects within the Africa, Asia Pacific and Middle East regions that demonstrate resilience in landscape design and planning. In addition to celebrating excellence in design, the awards provide a platform for showcasing innovative approaches, fostering collaboration, and inspiring future generations of landscape architects.
The program underscores the commitment of IFLA AAPME to fostering a sustainable and thoughtful approach to landscape architecture that resonates across continents and cultures.
