Arranged as an ensemble of new and adapted spaces, the village is integrated into the campus at University Avenue, forming a gateway between the ANU and the city. Conceived as a connective day and night environment for students, the village accommodates the temporary relocation of ANU’s retail core, including student services, common spaces, as well as food and beverage offerings.

The urban design for the village went through a landscape-led approach and touches lightly on the landscape. The skilful interplay of proximities and scales across the village demonstrates a holistic interpretation of place that interweaves spaces to encourage social connectivity to the university and the greater Canberra community.
